Whirlpool Hash Generator

What is Whirlpool?

It's a young (released in 2000) cryptographic hash function designed by Vincent Rijmen and Paulo S. L. M. Barreto. It's based on a modified version of the AES. This hash function produces a 512-bit message digest from a message with a maximum length of (2256) bits and currently it's one of the strongest encryption algoritmhs (beside SHA512 and RIPEMD320). It may be used free of charge for any purpose (it is not and will never be patented).

This algorithm had three versions:
  • WHIRLPOOL-0
  • WHIRLPOOL-T
  • WHIRLPOOL (final version that was adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
